Hey folks, Harry here... For sometime now I've been hearing that Rob Zombie was in talks with Anchor Bay and a couple of other companies about the possiblity of distributing HOUSE OF A THOUSAND CORPSES, and from the sound of this report it looks like he managed to finally strike a deal with someone somewhere. I do know that Rob was adamant about it getting in theaters, so from the look of things, we could be seeing this on the big screen this Halloween... I just hope to god it kicks our asses! Here's the report...

This is my first ever email to you, let alone submission, so be merciful! I met you at CONvergence in '01 in Minnepolis, MN with Father Geek and Quint as you waxed rhapsodic about the upcoming LOTR movie and answered our myriad of fanboy questions for several hours. (You were 110% spot-on in the LOTR headline!) I talked to you briefly in one of the meeting rooms later that night. I was the tall, overweight guy; now you remember, don't you? Ha ha! No matter.

Disclaimer: The following may be old news to you, but I wanted to share it with you anyways just because it's so exciting.

Now, on to topic: I literally just got home from Rob Zombie's concert in St. Paul, MN which happened just a few hours ago. At the aforementioned venue, Rob mentioned, (during stage patter as prelude to showing footage for House of 1000 Corpses and the song of the same name) that he had news to share. He said, and I quote:"This movie you're about to see footage from has taken up several years of my life. Nobody knew where it was going, but now it's done. It's done and it's coming out this Halloween and you're all going to see it." Sadly, he didn't give any details as to who's distributing or even if it's big-screen or video, but it was great to hear of positive movement on this project. I've been combing your site and others for news, but as you know, it's been pretty sparse.

The footage itself was pretty promising. It was jumbled and disjointed, but you could get a pretty good feel for what the tone and atmosphere will be. I'm sure you've heard about it several dozen times, but here's my take: The Legion of Doom if they were all Leatherface-esque serial killers living in a Carnival and being filmed by a 50's Exploitation/Propaganda director with a fetish for fake blood and gore. In other words, just good fun! The only thing that will definitely be missing is Vincent Price, but I'm sure he'll be there in spirit! Hope this gives you some helpful insight into the Dredded-one's movie future.
