Hey folks, Harry here... I'm not sure what this film is about, but the cinematography and use of colors in Kitano's DOLLS is simply breathtaking, and having the two characters tied together reminds me a bit of RAGGEDY ANN AND ANDY, but maybe that's just me. Suppose it could also remind of THE 39 STEPS, but it just seems too lyrical for that. Here ya go, check out that trailer... Tis a beaut!

Second-time contributor (I wrote a review for Battle Royale when it premiered in LA a couple of years ago at the Egyptian.)
I've been wondering what the hell Takeshi Kitano has been up to lately and I happened to find a trailer for his next movie "Dolls" here: CLICK HERE
I'm a huge Kitano fan and this trailer looks pretty damn good. Though this short snipet doesn't really shed much light on what the movie might be about, some of the shots are incredibly beautiful and mysterious--definitely a sight to behold.
I'm thinking Kitano isn't acting in this one, but I could be wrong. Either way, it's a new Takeshi film which has got me dancing a jig. Now all we can do is hope for a US release.
Since the site is in Japanese I can't quite make out much, but it does look like it's coming out in Japan in 2002.
