I loved the first batch of REN & STIMPY cartoons. There are phrases from those shows that still find their way into usage between my friends and I, and when Nickelodeon wrestled control away from John K., it was heartbreaking. Here on my desk, I have a hand-drawn cartoon by John K. of Ren and Stimpy, both laughing hysterically, as Ren says, “Your last name is MCWHAT?!?!?!?!” To me, any news about his return to these characters is good news, even if it does make me sad that he and Billy West can’t work together this time out.

I noticed Animation Magazine has a feature on the new Ren & Stimpy show. Well, a few paragraphs actually, but apparently that was enough to warrant cover art. The 6 new episodes are aimed squarely at adult audiences, with jokes involving kicking bums in the "ball sack." Also of note, the voice cast includes John Kricfaluci & *not* Billy West. I didn't recognize the name, but my assumption is that this other guy will be voicing Stimpy. I'm not stunned since I understand Kricfaluci & West had a falling out, but it is a bit sad. The article also discusses Stripperella & Gary the Rat. All three of these shows will debut on TNN in June.
