UPDATED!! Werner Herzog faces off with Nessie! Footage here!!!
Ahoy, squirts. Quint here with a little look at Werner Herzog's (yes, THAT Warner Herzog) next project, a documentary (fake? probably, but maybe not...) about the myth surrounding the Loch Ness monster called THE ENIGMA OF LOCH NESS. I grew up in California and got to spend one winter vacation up at Lake Tahoe, which is known for three things: Snow, gambling and Tahoe Tessie, its own local myth/water monster. As a child that wasn't a blackjack addict (like the adult currently typing this is), only two of those three things held any interest to me. Since then I've been in love with the mystery surrounding both Tahoe Tessie and the grandaddy of them all, the Loch Ness monster. So, is this for real or total bullshit? I'd guess by the footage found at the below site it's bullshit, but if it isn't then Holy shit! Check it out!
Hey Harry,
Have you seen this site? It seems Werner Herzog is trying to develop a Blair Witch- type of hype.
Look specially at the footage of the monster. My!!!!!! It's looks gorgeous!!!!! (QUINT NOTE: make sure to click on the video option at the top of the page) In fact being shot at Loch Nees it can pass for the real deal.
Check it out! You wont regret it.
The Spaniard
Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here.
I've actually been tracking this one for a while. Zak Penn and I are friendly, and he told me about this when he was preparing to leave for Loch Ness. Werner Herzog is one of his life-long idols, and the idea of working on a documentary with him was one of Zak's dreams. By the time he came back, though, he had a completely different attitude about things. I know this guy who e-mailed us dismissed this as a hoax, but the dispute that's arisen between the filmmakers and some of the tragedy and chaos surrounding the film is no hoax at all. Far from it. I'm hoping I can get in touch with Zak soon to talk to him about this, and I've sort of been waiting to mention it until I could get him to go on the record about what he says was a very difficult and terrifying experience.
There's a lot more to this story than the above e-mail would suggest, and hopefully we'll have more about it for you soon.
