Man, oh, man, the wholesale stripmining of my childhood continues unabated. Sure, this looks like fun, but I’m starting to feel like Benjamin Button. The older I get, the more I am surrounded by the things that I loved when I was a wee lad. I was forwarded this by someone who was forwarded it by someone who was forwarded it by someone else. It’s that sort of a link... as soon as you see it, you’ll want to show it to someone else and say, “Oh, my god, do you remember GIGANTOR? Look at this! This is insane!” One of the folks compared it to a big-budget Rock’em Sock’em Robots movie. They’re not far off...
Remember the Japanese cartoon "Gigantor"? About a kid who has a flying giant flying robot he commands via a handheld remote control? In Japan, the cartoon and robot were called "Tetsujin." Now there's a live action movie.
So, if fantastically goofy, live-action, very Japanese giant battling robot movies intrigue you (and I know that they do), watch the trailer RIGHT HERE!!
