SPY-HUNTER Pre-Production Conceptual Art Images!!
Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...
I’m convinced of two things: the Rock is a movie star, even if he hasn’t had the right movie yet to prove it, and somebody, at some point, is going to make a video game movie that is the same kind of giddy visceral fun as games are when you play them.
So what are the odds that SPY-HUNTER might satisfy both of those predictions at once?
These images were slipped to me by one of our spies, the always-capable Hal Jordan.
What you’re looking at are pre-production conceptual art images from the film, showing the Interceptor in battle against helicopters, tanks, and at rest inside the weapons van.
There’s a pretty cool vibe to these images, don’t you think?
If you want, you can click the image to see a larger version.
There are two very different types of spy films. I love stuff like TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY or the early Bond films where the emphasis is on brains and the way spies hide in the shadows.
But there’s also a part of me that adores the big crazy over the top spectacle of some of the mid-era Bond films, and the original SPY-HUNTER game certainly seemed to be a nod to that. So far, I’d say the film looks like they know what they’re doing, and I’ll keep my fingers crossed that this is going to be pure fun. I'd love to flip for a John Woo film again.
