QT FEST #7: Tickets On Sale April 4th!!! One of the nights, beneath the stars!!!

Hey folks, Harry here with a joyous announcement of the greatest variety. The Seventh Sporadic Edition of the Quentin Tarantino Film Festival (affectionately called QT 7) will be unleashed upon us sooner than we could have possibly hoped for. It has only been 6 months since the last - and another is upon us. Quentin's in town to shoot his parts of GRINDHOUSE with Robert Rodriguez. Before he whips out the camera and the bloody good times on set - he's going to celebrate what he considers the best of the previous 6 QT fests. Personally, I'm praying for LEGEND OF THE WOLF WOMAN, GIRL FROM STARSHIP VENUS, TWISTED NERVE, ALL THE FERNANDO DI LEO FILMS IN A ROW, MARCH OR DIE and a ton of others. In addition to the classics of the QT FEST'S past, he will be peppering this pageantry with a bevy of new (to the fest series) flicks! Fuck dropping a house on a witch, this is the sort of thing I love to see dropped on our heads! PLUS - the first OUTDOOR QT FEST event. Once, many moons ago, Quentin was supposed to host a Jack Hill double bill with SPIDER BABY and SWITCHBLADE SISTERS, Tarantino got deadly sick at LAX and couldn't make it, and I had to substitute that intro... It'd be cool beans if he brought back Sid Haig and Jack Hill... Or - God Damn It! For that outdoor night... Quentin!!! FUCKING GIVE US A PAM GRIER NIGHT and bring PAM!!! I'm all a-twitterpated over the notion that this will soon be in my life. Here's the press release which we got first! So read and plan accordingly. The outdoor show, I've heard that it has a capacity of around and over 2000 people, so if you never have gotten to experience QT fest - on that night, a ton or two of you good folks can participate in the largest event in QT FEST history! Hopefully - the Austin Film Society will be ready for the glut they'll be getting when passes go on sale on the 4th. Last year, it got kinda crazy. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!

QT 7: THE BEST OF QT FEST

APRIL 24-30

FESTIVAL PASSES ON SALE APRIL 4 (details at www.austinfilm.org)

TICKETS TO THE APRIL 25 OUTDOOR SHOW

ON SALE APRIL 5 AT www.rollingroadshow.com

Quentin Tarantino returns to the Alamo this spring for QT 7 - a look back at the best films he's programmed over the last six festivals plus some new surprises from his exploitation vault, all in one amazing film-geek smorgasbord! Crime films, trash films, westerns, kung-fu epics, splatter films, mondo films, drug films, lederhosen films - he's shown it all, and there's no champion of cinema's seedy, unsung underbelly quite like Quentin. His programming and detailed, enthusiastic introductions have become a film school in and of themselves.

Festival passes are EXTREMELY limited, if you want to attend, be ready on April 4. The Festival pass includes admission to all 7 days of the fest, including the outdoor double feature screening on April 25. Details on the ticketing process will be updated soon at www.austinfilm.org.

If you aren't one of the lucky few to get festival passes, there will be a much larger number of tickets available to the April 25 outdoor double feature show, being held at the Glenn (behind the Backyard) using the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema's Rolling Roadshow rig. Tickets for this night are $20 and will go on sale online at noon Central Time on www.rollingroadshow.com.

Standby tickets for each night of QT Fest will also be available at the door. Last year, we were able to accommodate 95% of the standby customers.

Film titles, themes for the evenings and late-breaking news about QT fest will all be announced at www.originalalamo.com. Keep checking back for more details.

Proceeds from QT Fest benefit the Austin Film Society.
