Numerous sources have long been reporting that 13 episodes of Aaron Sorkin’s faux-SNL backstage hourlong “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” have been ordered by NBC for next season.
That’s right. We manage to go 30 years without a faux-SNL backstage show, then suddenly NBC gives us two at once!
Well, not quite. Because of the similarity of premise, the plan apparently is to debut the Fey show at midseason.
Meanwhile, there's word that NBC is considering giving "Studio 60" the Thursday timeslot "ER" has occupied since 1994, with "ER" moving to Tuesday or Wednesday!
