Got $2 And Want To See The CW's Failed @QU@M@N Pilot Right Now??

I am – Hercules!!

The writer-producers from “Smallville” made an “Aquaman” pilot. The CW passed. But now it’s resurfaced, if you will, on iTunes, which allows you to download all 43 minutes of it for just $1.99.

(To anticipate the question? No, neither Herc nor AICN makes penny one off iTunes or that $1.99 download.)

As for the pilot itself – also known as “Mercy Reef,” I believe - it’s … interesting. A.C. has the same powers he had in “Smallville” but now comes with a more complicated backstory. He can swim as fast as Clark can run. He gets super-strong when he pours water on himself. He seems to have, like, nine jobs. He has a really hot mom, who goes away in the teaser. Later, a sailor-man shows up, un-aged, after disappering in the Bermuda Triangle for 60 years. There are also these sexy sexy mermaid-y sea-vampires called “sirens.” (They’re like Buffy’s vampires, because they go “poof” if you harpoon them in just the right place.) Ving Rhames turns up as the baddest bald black lighthouse keeper in the Florida Keys. There’s a boat called “Quint” that looks like Quint’s boat from “Jaws.”

The kid who played A.C. will turn up for a bunch of “Smallville” episodes this coming season as another major DC Comics icon – Oliver Queen. The Green Arrow. Out to form a league of justice!
