ReBoot gets a reboot

Astroboy just sent Father Geek the following report, wow, I remember Harry's sister had some of their comicbooks and a handful of these action figures, coooool...

Do you remember ReBoot? ReBoot was the first 100% computer-generated weekly cartoon series. It ran on ABC, Saturday mornings for two seasons around 1995 or so. When Disney bought ABC, they wanted to run only Disney cartoons, so the fiercely independent Canadian-based makers of ReBoot were booted. A third season was produced for Canadian television, scripted by classic action-adventure writers (such as Len Wein, Marv Wolfman, Christy Marx, D.C. Fontana).

Finally last year, the Cartoon Network showed the full three seasons of ReBoot for the first time in the U.S.A. And that third season will be released on DVDs by ADVision later this year.

But the EXCITING NEWS for ReBoot fans is that a deal has been signed for Mainframe Entertainment, Inc. to produce two 90-minute ReBoot TV-movies. The first special will take off where Season III ended, tying up many of the loose ends and storylines. The second special will start a new story line.
