Hey folks, Harry here in Los Angeles... I'm currently looking out at downtown LA and dancing a gig... as this news... well it's the type to get the heart pumping palpatations and making like McConaughey on Bongos... Ok, sure... it isn't anything definite... but it is still just the damn mention... and hearing Basil being excited about it... and ya know, the vision in my mind's eye of going to my local CD shop and buying a NEW BASIL POLEDOURIS CONAN score... well it is the sort of thing of HIGH ADVENTURE... I love road trips with his original CONAN score... early dawn... crossing Arizona... sigh... yes. This is good.
Long time reader, first time writer. I got the opportunity to hear Basil Poledouris speak today.
Fascinating guy, Anyone who is interested in film music should hear this guy speak. He's extremely likable and immensely knowledgable.I was impressed. He talked a lot about his relationship with Milius and in it he mentioned three times how Milius really wanted to do superhero "spiderman type" movies. I remember when you thought that Milius should get Spiderman- after the stories Basil told us about him, I want him more than Raimi and I LOVE SAM RAIMI.
Anyways, I asked him what his future projects were including maybe King Conan. He said he was about to do the next Crocodile Dundee film and told us the plot. He said that the Wachowski Brothers are currently the guys to helm the next Conan flick and are HUGE fans of the Milius original.
When I asked him if he was going to do them he said with a smile "I sure as hell hope so." This probably isn't even news but it's as good as I got right now. If you can use it-great. I have to go eat some pez and toast anyways. be seeing you
